Eric Bourhill, M.D.
Dr. Bourhill has been at Burnt Chimney Family Medicine since 1993. After receiving a bachelor of science degree from Virginia Tech, Dr. Bourhill received his M.D. degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School and did his training at the Duke/FAHEC residency program in North Carolina.
After finishing his residency and becoming board certified in family medicine in 1987, Dr. Bourhill traveled the United States as an itinerant emergency medicine doctor and rock climber for 6 years before going into family medicine private practice in Burnt Chimney Virginia.
Born in Richmond Virginia and raised in Catawba Virginia Dr. Bourhill has always gravitated back to the people and mountains of Southwest Virginia. His passion for family medicine stems from his enjoyment of the people and families and the opportunity to, in most cases, be the first physician that a patient sees for the diagnosis of a new problem.
Dr. Bourhill lives in Callaway Virginia with his wife Linda and three children and various dogs and cats. When he is not practicing medicine he enjoys working as a blacksmith reproducing 17th and 18th century tools, as well as rebuilding and restoring antique woodworking and metalworking machinery.
